Recap: Trade log for the week of August 17

Stocks finished a choppy week lower, with weakness late in the week. The S&P 500 remains up 12.28% year to date, while the portfolio is up 15.49%.

On Tuesday, we sold a WMT 8/21 $126 covered call and rolled the existing TXN 8/21 $270 put down and out to the 8/28 $267.50 strike for a $156.05 net credit. On Wednesday, we sold two NFLX 8/28 $76 puts and bought them back the same day for a $41.21 net gain. The WMT call expired worthless Friday. The three trades generated $224.21 in net premium cash flow after fees and roll debits on $64,621 of peak deployed capital, a 0.35% premium ROC.

From the August 15 snapshot to this one, account value fell $1,179.79, or 0.78%, as the premium cash flow offset part of a $1,404.00 mark-to-market decline in the stock holdings. Year to date, the portfolio is up $12,043.35, or 15.49%, with $12,243.36 in realized income. Max drawdown remains -9.92%. We end the week with TXN and CSCO puts open, $37,750 of collateral deployed, and $85,804.82 in cash. We are staying patient.
